Shopping
Shopping in Central Oregon is an adventure in of itself. With so many unique shops in very unique areas, you will find places for bargains and splurging. The following is a list of some of our favorite shopping hot spots. And, for those of you coming from out of state, Oregon has no sales tax!
The Sunriver Village Mall and Business Park - The Sunriver Village Mall and Sunriver Business Park include two grocery and convenience stores, Oregon State Liquor store, a variety of restaurants, bakeries, beauty salons, post office, florist, candy shop, bookstore, gift and apparel shops, sports shops, and a variety of professional services ranging from attorneys to real estate companies. Two Shell service stations and a 24-hour family emergency medical center are also available.
The Bend Factory Stores - Outlet malls are always a hit because who doesn’t love a bargain? The Bend Prime Outlets have over 25 stores ranging from Nike to Eddie Bauer. Sunset Realty’s guests receive exclusive discounts at many of the stores. Specials change weekly, so make sure to pick up the current flier at our front desk, and show your Sunset Realty key for savings!
The Shops at the Old Mill - The Old Mill District which once housed, well, the old sawmill of Bend, is now a happenin’ shopping spot along the Deschutes River with over 30 shops. Victoria’s Secret, Banana Republic, and American Eagle Outfitters are just a few of the shops you’ll find. End your day of shopping by catching a movie at the Old Mill 10, then head to Red Robin for a tasty dinner. During the summer months, enjoy free concerts on Sundays at the Les Schwab Amphitheater right across the river. Big name acts come to Bend as well…visit their website for upcoming performances.
Art Galleries - The art galleries in the Old Mill and Downtown Bend areas are phenomenal. Look for First Friday Artwalks on the first Friday of every month. All of the art galleries in the Old Mill and Downtown stay open late and serve complimentary wine, hor’ derves, and other goodies to power you along on the art stroll around town.
Downtown - Stroll along Wall and Bond Streets in downtown Bend for a multitude of unique shops, art galleries, restaurants, and night life. Keep in mind that most of the stores are closed on Sundays. After shopping to your heart’s content, you can saunter on over to Mirror Pond and Drake Parks. With over 13 acres of open lawn, river front access, picnic tables and bike/walking paths, you can choose to roam or relax. Drake Park is the site for many festivals and outdoor events throughout the year.
Shopping Malls -There are two malls in Bend which feature department stores and specialty retailers such as the Bon-Macy’s, JC Penney and Sears. Bend River View and Mountain View Mall are located on the north end of Bend.
