The RE/MAX offices of Central Oregon hosted their 5th annual Golf Classic & Retreat as a benefit for the Central Oregon Sparrow Clubs. The event was a huge success, exceeding the fundraising goal of $35,000; and reaching new the height of a whopping $50,000 to benefit the local youth charity.
Much thanks is due to Patron sponsors, or individuals donating $1,000. Event Patrons this year included: Jack & Toni Frison, Peter & Janet Storton, Ron & Joanne Meisner, Jack & Lara Cooper, and Ron & Diane Tolley. Thanks also is in order to event title sponsors; Bank of the Cascades and Western Title.
According to the appreciative staff at the Sparrow office, “RE/MAX is not only a tremendous support to our operations through this event, but they continue to support the kids participating in Sparrow Clubs all throughout the school year”.
Examples of this year-long support are the RE/MAX Land & Homes office in Redmond and the RE/MAX Sunset Realty office in Sunriver. Under the encouragement of Tom Lewis, the Land and Homes office was a second-time sponsor of the Sparrow Club at Obsidian Middle School, where last year, kids helped their Sparrow Hunter and family battle a fight with cancer. This year, thanks to RE/MAX Land & Homes, the kids are able to help their little Sparrow Wyatt, who has had multiple heart conditions and surgeries. In Sunriver, thanks to the RE/MAX Sunset Realty sponsorship, and broker, Scott Pence, kids at La Pine Elementary are working hard, putting their hearts into helping their Sparrow, Daniel.
This years tournament was held the weekend of May 13th and 14 th at the Woodlands Golf Course in Sunriver. The evening prior to the tournament brought in high funds through the dinner and auction benefit. Although much effort was put in by many volunteers and the Brokers of each of the Central Oregon RE/MAX offices, the event has been tirelessly spearheaded by Diane Tolley and Scott Pence of RE/MAX Sunset Realty in Sunriver, Oregon.
Sparrow Clubs would like to extend a huge thanks to the RE/MAX offices and Brokers of Central Oregon. “RE/MAX is a huge resource for Sparrow Clubs, not only enabling us to focus on quality, sustainability, and effectiveness on the operations side, but also a resource that is supporting the core of what Sparrow Clubs is: ‘Kids-helping-kids.’ As a result, kids are helping kids, and Sparrow Clubs is continuing to thrive in approximately thirty Central Oregon schools per year, enabling thousands of kids to make a difference by helping hundreds of local families with a child in a medical crisis.”
