Be Our Guest for Mt. Bachelor's FR*EE Ski Day on Friday, February 1st
Three cans of food (or any non-perishable food) gets you a F*REE lift ticket at Mt. Bachelor on Friday, February 1st. The lifts are open from 9am-4pm. The non-perishable and canned food collection starts at 7:30am. Cash donations are happily accepted in lieu of food as well.
Worried about crowds? No need to worry, we aren't Mt. Hood Meadows. Mt. Bachelor has over 3,600 acres of terrain, 71 runs and 7 express quads in addition to their other lift chairs. With the longest run being 1.5 miles, you'll be getting up the mountain much faster than going down. And if you really want to stay away from people, hit the Outback or Northwest runs to escape!
Plan your ski weekend getaway here in Sunriver from 1/31 through Feb. 3rd, and you can get 2 lift tickets for $25 to Mt. Bachelor on participating homes.
The Best Conditions I've Seen in 6 Winters
I’ve been truly lucky to ride at some of the best ski resorts in North America. I’ve snowboarded my way as far East as Jackson Hole in addition to every single ski resort between Southern Cali to Whistler, B.C. In fact, Lake Tahoe was my home for a while after college. While some consider snowboarding a sport, it has always been a passion and way of life for me.
I have lived in Central Oregon for almost 7 years now, and one of the main reasons why I moved back to the Northwest and chose Bend as my home was to be near Mt. Bachelor—doesn’t everyone choose where they will live based on the quality of ski resort nearby? Mt. Bachelor is one of the Northwest area ski resorts that manages to remain somewhat of a secret. In fact, two Sundays ago, I rode Bachelor with visiting friends from Portland. A few in the group have only been to Bachelor twice (this was their second time) and were ecstatic about the conditions and kept saying over and over “I can’t believe this is your mountain!” I was surprised to hear that from local Oregonians, since Bachelor is not far away. Well, it was my job to show them Bachelor’s best and Mother Nature sure did provide the best snow to go along with the best runs. The snow was incredible—and I am not just saying this because I work in a tourist based business. In the 6 winters I’ve lived here, this is the best I’ve seen it…pure, deep powder and nothing less. What a day we had…we rode hard and ended our day with a round of pitchers by a roaring fire at the West Village Lodge bar, laughing and talking of the epic snow and how soar we were going to be for the entire next week. We were all feeling pretty lucky that Sunday.
Enjoy your snowboarding adventure at Bachelor! Lynnette
