March 1-2
Special Olympics Oregon State Winter Games at Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort. When: 9:00AM to 4:00PM, Cost: Free. Athletes from around Oregon will be on Mt Bachelor for two days of competitions in the sports of alpine skiing (slalom, giant slalom, downhill), snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Carl Tosten performs at The Pines House Concerts. Where: A house concert in The Three Pines subdivision in Bend. When: 7:00PM Cost: Suggested Donation $15(all proceeds are given to the performer)
Carl Tosten known for his expressive and energetic guitar style, Tosten has been described as an Acoustic One- Man Band. His four self-produced solo recordings combine his unique and expressive guitar style with his strong and soulful voice.

High Desert Museum - Totally Touchable Tuesdays. When: Every Tuesday, 10:30 am. Sensory-filled storytelling about animals and people of the High Desert. You never know what will happen - crafts, puppets or maybe a live animal appearance!

2nd Street Theater presents "Dancing at Lughnasa". Where: 2nd Street Theater, 220 NE Lafayette, Bend. Show starts at 8pm, Sunday matinee 3pm
Cost: Adults $18, Senior/Students $16. Five sisters in a small rural village in Ireland in 1936 struggle through life, love and tragedy, searching to find where they belong.
March 6
Exhibit Opening: Amerikanuak! Basques in the High Desert. Through a wealth of Basque family artifacts - from handmade dance shoes to a sheepherder wagon - the exhibit tells the story of how an ancient culture from Europe influenced life in the High Desert. The exhibit returns home from touring museums throughout the West. Visit The High Desert Museum on Hwy 97 in Bend. Exhibit is open for viewing at 9am.

Telluride Mountain Film Festival at The Tower Theatre in Bend at 7pm. Mountainfilm is dedicated to education and inspiring audiences about issues that matter, cultures worth exploring, environments worth preserving and conversations worth sustaining.

Taste of the Town
Where: Central Oregon Community College
When: 3:00pm. Join some of Central Oregon's finest restaurants for a night of food, drinks and dancing.

First Friday Gallery Walk. The streets of Bend fill with art patrons on the first Friday of every month as Downtown Bend and Old Mill District art galleries stay open late with receptions for guest artists and special presentations of new exhibits. Hours are from 5-9pm.

Meal Of The Year Where: Central Oregon Community College at Mazama Gym. When: 5:30PM. Cost: $110 per person or $1250 per table, Black Tie is optional. Meal of the Year will feature a gourmet four-course dinner prepared by the High Desert Chapter of American Culinary Federation. In addition to the tantalizing food, the highlights of the evening will be a Live auction and Dancing to the High Street Band.

Portland Opera To Go at the High Desert Museum. When: 7pm Cost: $25 Members, $30 non-Members. Portland Opera "To Go" La Boheme: Some of America's finest young singers perform this 50-minutes, English-language adaptation - a great introduction to opera. Proceeds benefit the High Desert Museum. Wanderlust Tours ~ Moonlight Snowshoe Tours. For four nights each month surrounding the full moon, snowshoe with a naturalist guide and experience the silence of nature under the bright winter moonlight. Cost: $275 In-district, $325 Out-of-district. Close-up wildlife encounters and hands-on fun allow kids to understand High Desert wildlife, and discover how these animals survive in an arid climate. Includes a "Night at the Museum" sleepover where kids learn about Museum creatures' nighttime activities. Grades 3-5. Limited to 15 participants.
