Established in 1987, Sunset Realty grew into thriving vacation rental and real estate company. Scott Pence took ownership of Sunset Realty in 2001 from the previous owner and founder. Scott started with Sunset Realty in 1994 as a closer, among other duties such as laundry and working in the housekeeping department. He had obtained his real estate license and wanted to learn the vacation rental business in order to better serve real estate clients. After a very short time at the business, Scott was given a management role. As a result of a death in the family, Scott had to leave Central Oregon only to return to Sunset Realty as the General Manager in 1996. He was chiefly responsible for growing the company from a mere 124 vacation homes to well over 250 today.
The very identifiable large log building which is depicted in our logo, was built from timber off of the founder's own land in Montana. The log office or “the log” as we like to call it, located in the Sunriver Business Park, currently serves as both our vacation rental office and one of Sunset Realty’s RE/MAX real estate sales offices. In addition to our log office, we have two other offices that are specifically for RE/MAX real estate sales office and service which are located in the Sunriver Village Mall, and in La Pine, Oregon.
